Introducing Amanda-Sue Rope

Amanda-Sue Rope is a ceramicist based in London, England. Based at her studio and ceramic retail space Grove Vale Ceramics, her works are a combination of wheel thrown and hand built, stoneware clay vessels.
"Inspired by geometry and the richness of the built environment, recent work has focused on themes of stacking and assembling component thrown forms to create hybrid, architectonic vessels with rhythmic textured surfaces. Colours range from the earthy and elemental to spots of saturated acid and pastel hues using a range of oxides washes and engobes." A-S Rope.
With an ongoing interest in red clay, Amanda-Sue's vessels exude an earthly warmth and create dynamic spatial relationships with their forms and their relationship to the changes of light.
Confident, sculptural, these pieces have a wonderful presence grouped together or displayed individually.
